Our Story
In
December of 2006 when Betsy Gauthier
was ordering chocolate for friends
and family from a small shop in New
York State, (Where the Gauthier
Family lived before moving to
Greensboro), She had a “light bulb
moment.” There is nothing like this
in Greensboro she thought!
Shortly
after daughter Amie was laid off.
She said to her mother “let’s just
start our own business.” Betsy said
to Amie… “Gourmet Chocolate Shop.”
That is how it began!
For
the next 6 months Amie, Betsy and
Peter Gauthier sat at the computer
and wrote a business plan! They
spent months tasting chocolate…
(”hard job right?”) ...preparing
financial statements and looking for
just the right location.

months later Loco for Coco, a family
owned and operated business opened
at 1420 D Westover Terrace in
Greensboro, NC, right across from
Lucky 32. |
